Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday dedicated as many as 155 schools in five Odisha districts which have transformed into Smart into smart schools.
According to the statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), on the fourth day of the 5T School transformation today the CM dedicated a total of 158 schools including 6 in Malkangiri, 25 in Jharsuguda, 29 in Kalahandi, 60 in Mayurbhanj and 38 schools of Khordha district.
Apart from smart-classrooms, the smart schools have e-libraries, e-laboratories, modern washrooms, and drinking water filters, etc. The students will be able to study through projectors and white boards instead of the blackboards.
It is to be noted that till today 689 transformed schools of Odisha have been dedicated. In the first phase a total of 1075 transformed schools will be dedicated. The process will end by November 24.
On this occasion the CM said that this school transformation will make the schools in rural pockets at par with the schools of urban areas. Also, 15 percent reservation is there so that students of government schools can become doctors and engineers.
There is a saying that Children constitute one-third of our population, but all of our future, the CM also said.
“I want students of our State may lead in every field. They may bring laurels to the State in lieu of education, sports and music. They should know about technology. They should dream big and go ahead with self-confidence. This is the aim behind transformation of the schools,” the CM said.
The CM also spoke about 5T initiative. The school transformation is the biggest instance of 5T that includes technology, team work, time , transparency and transformation. This has made it possible for the transformation of the schools.
On this occasion the students from different smart schools that were dedicated today, interacted with the CM and expressed their views on the transformation.
The transformation event was conducted today by the CM’s 5T secretary VK Pandian.
