Odisha CM Naveen dedicates Rourkela-Sambalpur Biju Expressway

Jharsuguda: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik dedicated the much-awaited Rourkela-Jharsuguda-Sambalpur stretch of the Biju Expressway to the people of the state at a special function at Panchapada High School ground here on Monday.
Patnaik dedicated the 163-km long road, which has constructed at a cost of Rs 1200 crores, in the presence of many Ministers and local MLAs.
The construction work of the Biju Expressway has been completed between Sambalpur and Rourkela. Later, the project will connect four districts of western Odisha like Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundergarh with Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nuapada.
The expressway will also connect many border towns of western and south Odisha like Chandli, Boriguma, Nabarangpur, Papadahandi, Ambapani, Dharmagarh, Sinapali, Behella, Nuapada, Paikmal, Padmapur, Sohela, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, and Rourkela.
The Odisha government has allocated Rs 3200 crore for the purpose.
