Odisha CM makes 4 big announcements for Baripada

Baripada: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today made four big announcements for development of Baripada Town.

Addressing a Mission Shakti conclave at Chhau Padia here during his one-day visit to Mayurbhanj district, Patnaik announced that the State Government will provide funds for revival of the Urban Cooperative Bank in Baripada, the license of which was cancelled by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for financial crisis in 2014. Besides, it will hold discussion with the Centre in this regard.

Besides, the Chief Minister announced to construct a ring road in the town for tackling flood situation and establishment of a research centre for Chhau Nrutya, a folk dance form.

This apart, Naveen also assured to develop the Mayurbhanj Ayurved Mahavidyalaya into a Government college.

On the occasion, the CM inaugurated 11 welfare projects and laid foundation stones for six developmental projects to be implemented in Mayurbhanj district.

Apart from these, Naveen provided Rs 15,000 to 20,295 Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) as seed money and financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh for 26 block-level federations in the district. He also provided Rs 3,000 for 39,418 women SHGs for digital empowerment of the women under the Mission Shakti programme.
