Odisha CM launches ‘Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana’ on Independence Day

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday unfurled the national flag at a special function held at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg here on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day.

Addressing the state on the occasion, the chief Minister launched his government’s most ambitious universal health benefit scheme, ‘Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BKSY)’ starting from today. More than 70 lakh families in the state will be benefited with this scheme.

The Chief Minister also paid rich tribute to freedom fighters and martyred soldiers. He remembered great sons of the soil who sacrificed their life during the freedom struggle of the country.

Patnaik said the Odisha Government is giving priority to farmers, women and youths of the state. The farmers are being provided with loan at 1% interest rate, he added.

The Chief Minister later received salute at the state-level parade.
