Odisha CM inaugurates 39th World Congress Of Poets at KIIT

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the 39th World Congress of Poets (WCP) at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) Deemed to be University here in Odisha on Wednesday, the day coinciding with the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

KIIT & KISS founder and President of World Congress of Poets 2019, Dr Achyuta Samanta, renowned author Ruskin Bond and several litterateurs from across the world were present on the occasion.

More than 1000 poets and writers from 82 countries including India and 500 poets from Odisha will take part in the WCP 2019, hosted by KIIT University.  ‘Compassion through Poetry’  is the theme of 39th World Congress of Poets.

Various kinds of poetry including  Compassion Poetry, Wisdom Poetry, Tourism Poetry, Spiritual Poetry and Reflection Poetry will be held during the five-day-long Congress.

The Wisdom Poetry will be held on 3rd October at KIIT, while the Tourism Poetry will be held at Konark Sun Temple on 4th October. The venue for Spiritual Poetry is Puri Sea Beach, Reflection Poetry will be held at KISS.

Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu will grace the valedictory session on October 6 as the Chief Guest, while Governor of Odisha, Prof. Ganeshi Lal and Union Minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi will be the Guests of Honour.
