Odisha CM gives away Biju Patnaik Sports Awards on National Sports Day

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday conferred Biju Patnaik Sports awards 2018 at a special function here on the occasion of the National Sports Day.

KIIT University, Bhubaneswar has been awarded for the Best Contribution to Promotion of Sports and Games.

Founder of KIIT & KISS, Dr Achyuta Samanta received the prestigious award on behalf of KIIT.

Ace para-shuttler Pramod Bhagat, who recently clinched two gold medals at BWF Para Badminton World Championships in Basel, got the prize for outstanding performance in sports and games category.

Nine-year-old Shrimati Bhadra, a class IV student of Ghantapada Nodal High School in Talcher, has been conferred with the Biju Patnaik Bravery Award for saving her friend from a goods train mishap.
