Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik got a new security in-charge today. Former DIG of Southern Range Ashish Kumar Singh who is better known as the ‘encounter specialist’ has been posted as DIG, Intelligence (in charge of CM Security). According to reports, Singh will also have the additional charge of Odisha’s Special Task Force.
Led by SP Ashish Singh, who is from Uttar Pradesh, Ganjam police had launched a special drive in 2017 to make the district criminal-free following which several dreaded criminals were arrested leading to a steep drop in criminal activities in the district.
Apart from Ganjam, during his posting in Maoist infested-Malkangiri district and illegal mining hub of Keonjhar and Rayagada, Rourkela or even in Puri, Singh always had control over crimes successfully.

Ms Kalinga
