Odisha CM felicitates Dutee Chand, says she is a true symbol of perseverance

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday felicitated Odia sprinter Dutee Chand at the State Secretariat.

Patnaik congratulated Dutee for wining gold in 100 metre and silver in the 200 metre during the recently concluded 58th National Inter State Senior Athletics Championship.

Later, taking to his twitter handle, the CM said, “Congratulated @DuteeChand for clinching gold in 100 metre dash at 58th National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships. She has proven to be a true symbol of perseverance by outperforming her own national record. Wished her the very best for @asiangames2018.”

Chand, during the athletics meet, created new national record in 100 metre by clocking 11.29 seconds. With this she also had surpassed her own record that she had set last year with a timing of 11.30 at the Indian Grand Prix, New Delhi.

Dutee has also qualified in both 100 metre and 200 metre race for the Jakarta Asian Games which will be held in August this year..
