Odisha CM congratulates K Ravi Kumar and Manju Munda

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minster Naveen Patnaik congratulated Odisha’s ace weightlifter Katulu Ravi Kumar from Berhampur and Wushu player Manju Munda from Sialijoda village under in Keonjhar district for brining laurels to the state through their recent achievements.

Taking to his twitter handle, Patnaik congratulated the two sportspersons.

Congratulating Ravi Kumar, the CM said, “Congratulate #Odisha’s ace weightlifter Katulu Ravi Kumar for record-breaking gold at the ongoing Senior National Weightlifting Championships in Vishakhapatnam #OdishaForSports #OdishaForIndia.”

“Congratulate Wushu player Manju Munda, hailing from tribal district of Kendujhar, #Odisha for bagging the gold medal in Moscow Wushu Stars-2019 Championship. Wish her best. #OdishaForSports,” wrote Naveen while congratulating Munda.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Katulu Ravi Kumar won the gold medal at the ongoing Senior National Weightlifting Championships in Vishakhapatnam on Tuesday. Apart from winning the medal, the 30-year-old weightlifter set a new meet record by lifting a total of 342 kg in the snatch, clean and jerk in the 89-kg event.

Likewise, Munda won Gold medal in the Moscow Wushu Stars-2019 Championship held in Moscow, Russia. She pocketed the yellow medal after defeating her Russian counterpart in the final of the 42-kg category. The tournament was organised from February 22 to 27.
