Odisha CM asks BJD MLAs to attend Assembly session sincerely

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday asked his party legislators to attend the State assembly sincerely and effectively.

Patnaik’s direction came at the BJD legislature party meeting inside the assembly premises hours before beginning of the winter session of the state assembly.

The Chief Minister asked his party MLAs to take his approval for remaining on leave for more than two days during the session.

“I would like all the members to be punctual and sincere in attending the house. Anyone who needs more than two days leave will get it sanctioned from me,” said Patnaik during the meeting.

The Chief Minister also directed Government Chief Whip Pramila Mallik to submit a report to him on members attendance in the House at 11:30 AM everyday.

Reiterating that people of Odisha are their real masters, the Chief Minister asked his MLAs to utilise every minute to serve the people wholeheartedly. “The mandate of Patkura and Bijepur by-election is again a reminder of how much faith people have in BJD. This make all of us to work hard in a transparent and committed manner for the people of our state,” he said.

The ruling party legislators have also been asked to submit bi-monthly report to the Chief Minister on their activities in the constituency.  Earlier, the BJD Parliamentarians were asked to submit such report.
