Odisha CM Approves Projects Worth Rs 265 Crore For Puri Town

Puri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved five welfare projects to the tune of Rs 265 crore for Puri Town. The infrastructural development will be done under the ‘Abhada Yojana’ of the Odisha government.

The projects were approved at a meeting of High-Level State Committee chaired by the Odisha CM at the Lok Seba Bhawan (State Secretariat).

The state government has decided to construct 1250 shops at Old Jail area,  Jatrika and Puri municipality market.

As per a press release by the Chief Minister’s Office two multi-level parking lots will come up on the premises of Old Jail and Jatrika. Both the parking lots will have facilities for parking of around 400 cars.

Similarly, the government has decided to accommodate all government officials including the Puri Collector’s Office under a single roof while the Municipality Market will be renovated into a modern market complex. Besides the government has also decided to expand the road at Acharya Harihar Chhak.

All these works will be executed by the Works Department and Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation Limited.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary, Development Commissioner, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) chief administrator, Finance Secretary, Works Secretary and Puri Collector.
