Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved additional 341 posts of sepoys and constables in the state police on Thursday.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said that the recruitment process for 1,680 sepoys and constables is already in progress and now altogether 2,021 posts will be filled up.
Patnaik also approved a proposal to recruit 46 assistant public prosecutors (APPs).
Notably, there are 209 posts in APP cadre. Recently the state government appointed 148 APPs and altogether 163 APPs are working. Besides, the CM has approved the appointment of 341 posts by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).
Moreover, 154 candidates have been selected for Post-graduate teachers (PGTs). While 230 teachers’ post in Group B was sanctioned by the government, the OPSC has selected 154 candidates. They will be handed over appointment letters soon.
