Odisha CM Announces Special Package For Displaced Families Around Jagannath Temple

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced the special relief and rehabilitation package for affected people in the ongoing demolition drive up to a radial distance of 75 metres (security zone) from the ‘Meghanad Pacheri’ of Jagannath temple in Puri.

As per the package announced by the Chief Minister the state government will provide Rs 30 lakh as one-time resettlement assistance for each displaced family in Puri Jagannath Temple security zone or 520 sq ft house within 1.5km of the temple or 40x25ft land within 2km.

Besides the state government has also made detailed resettlement for mutts which will be implemented by Puri Collector in consultation with concerned spiritual establishments.

Government officials said that the package announced by CM is in addition to the compensation governed by provisions of Land Acquisition and Fair Compensation Act, 2013.
