Odisha CM and Governor Wish People On 74th Foundation Day Of Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik and Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal have extended their best wish to the people of Bhubaneswar on the occasion of the 74th Foundation Day of Odisha’s capital city.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik via a tweet said that transformation is the key. It has taken place in in culture, education, healthcare, and sports.

He also added that Bhubaneswar has become a major smart city in the country.

Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal has congratulated everyone on the Capital Foundation Day.

He has further urged the denizens of Bhubaneswar to make the State capital a clean, prosperous and greener city.

He added, “Bhubaneswar as a city is an amalgamation of rich tradition and progress.”

The name of the new capital came from “Tribhubaneswara” or “Bhubaneswar” (literally “Lord of the Earth”), a name of Shiva, the deity of the Lingaraja temple.

It is noteworthy that, the Legislative Assembly of Odisha was shifted from Cuttack to Bhubaneswar in 1949. The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation was established on 14 August 1994.

This year, The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) had appealed to the residents to celebrate Capital Foundation Day and decorate their homes with lights and lamps on the occasion.
