Odisha Chief Secy meets Governor, regrets miscommunication on air travel expenses

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi met Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal at the Raj Bhavan and expressed profound regret over the letter sent to the latter’s office seeking tour details of the first citizen of the state.

According to reports, Padhi expressed deep regrets at the manner in which a “letter” was issued to the Governor’s office regarding the use of aircraft. Besides, he said that stringent action would be taken against all responsible for this miscommunication.

The General Administration (GA) Department of Odisha government in a letter had sought details from Raj Bhawan on the Governor’s air travel bills.

Ganeshi Lal had taken Jet Aircraft Legacy 650 (VT-AOK) from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi on June 10 and back from New Delhi to Bhubaneswar on June 13 for which he had spent Rs 41,18,000.

Likewise, the first citizen of the state had gone to Sirsa, his native place, from New Delhi by another chopper on June 10. He had spent Rs 5,00,000 for this.

In the letter, the GA department had requested the Governor’s Special Secretary to return the same after signing the necessary user’s certificate for further necessary action.

This apart, the letter had also asked the official to intimate the reason and circumstances for hiring of a helicopter and deviation in the approved schedule of the flight and whether approval of the competent authority has been taken for the purpose or not.
