Odisha: Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi Appointed As New State Election Commissioner

Bhubaneswar: In a major development Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal today approved the appointment of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi as the State Election Commissioner.

Padhi a 1983 batch IAS officer has been handling the CM’s office since 2010 before being the Chief Secretary in November 2015.

Padhi, a soft-spoken bureaucrat, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Science, also holds an MBA from Yale.

Padhi during his tenure as chief secretary has been instrumental in the industrial growth of Odisha. The successful hosting of ‘Make in Odisha’ and taking the Single-Window mechanism to a greater height is few among the major achievements of Padhi.

With the appointment of Padhi as the State Election Commissioner, all eyes will be on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the announcement of the new chief secretary who would replace Padhi.
