Odisha changes working hours in Govt offices

Bhubaneswar: In an aim to improve the efficiency of administration and make it more citizen-centric, the Odisha government on Saturday rescheduled the working hours in offices functioning under the state government with immediate effect.

“The day-to-day working hours in the government offices shall be from 10 A.M. to 5.30 P.M. with half an hour lunch break from 1.30 P.M. to 2 P.M.,” a statement released by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department said.

The State government also declared fourth Saturday of every month as a general holiday for all state government employees, the statement added.

The Heads of offices at all levels of the State Government, however, will hold training and brainstorming sessions relating to innovative ideas for progress and development of the State on the fourth Saturday, which has otherwise been declared as a general holiday.
