Odisha : CDPO suspended on corruption charges

Koraput: A Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) in Odisha’s Koraput district was today suspended on alleged corruption charges and laxity in duties.

The accused officer has been identified as Surama Mohapatra, CDPO, Baipariguda.

In June this year, Niharbala Sahu, a Supervisor of Baipariguda ICDS office, had complained against Mohapatra for forcing her to collect illegal money from the Anganwadi workers.

“CDPO madam always asks us to collect five per cent of cooked food from the Anganwadi workers and give her the collected amount of money every month,” Niharbala Sahu said.

“In my 28-year long carrier, I have never faced such mental pressure to collect illegal money from the Anganwadi workers,” she added.
