Odisha-born Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra appointed Acting Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court

Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra has been appointed as the acting Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court.

The Government of India Ministry of Law and Justice Department of Justice has issued a notification. “In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint, Shri Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra, senior-most Judge of the Uttarkhand High Court, to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court, with effect from 24.12.2021 consequent upon the retirement of Shri Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, Chief Justice, Uttarakhand High Court,” read the notification.

It is to be noted here that Justice Mishra was transferred from Orissa High Court to Uttarakhand High Court in October this year.
