Puri: In a tragic incident family members of an elderly woman were forced to ferry her body on an inflatable tube as the village was marooned by floodwater.
The unfortunate incident has been reported from Gaudaranapada Harijan Sahi in Brahmagiri block in Puri district yesterday. The incident came to light after the photographs of the body being ferried on an inflatable tube went viral on social media.
As per reports, one Kuni Bhoi (70) passed away on Monday morning. However, her family members found it difficult to perform the last rites as the village was cut off due to floodwater.
Without any option left the family members finally carried the body on an inflated tube to reach the crematorium.
