Bhubaneswar: The state unit of BJP celebrated the elevation of Dharmendra Pradhan to Cabinet rank on Sunday.
Enthusiastic saffron party workers of different wings, along with many leaders, celebrated the occasion at the party head office by dancing to the beats of drums, sharing sweets and bursting crackers. State president Basanta Panda and many other senior leaders of the party were present at the celebrations.
Panda also expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and said that Pradhan’s promotion would boost the party’s prospects in Odisha.
“It is matter of great joy and pride for the entire state of Odisha that Dharmendra Pradhan has been elevated to Cabinet rank. We express our gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for thelelvation and also congratulate Dharmendra Pradhan on getting a Cabinet post. He was given the promotion because of his hard work and dedication. This will definitely have an impact on Odisha,” said Panda.
On other hand, BJD leaders said that only time will tell how far Odisha will be benefited from Dharmendra Pradhan’s promotion.
“We welcome the decision of the Prime Minister, who gave Cabinet rank to Dharmendra Pradhan from Odisha. Only time will tell if he will work for the development of the state. However, we expect that he will work for the state and for the benefit of Odia people,” said BJD spokesperson Prashanta Nanda.
Pradhan, who held the post of MoS (Ind) P&NG earlier, was given the additional portfolio of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Ministry by Prime Minister Narendra Pradhan.
