Nabarangpur: A bear has got stuck in a huge Sal tree in Junapani village under Kurshi panchayat of Umerkote block in Nabrangpur district.
According to the local villagers, the bear had allegedly strayed into the village in search of food but got stuck in the huge Sal tree.
The tree was huge hence the bear climbed up, but could not get down, said one of the onlookers.
A few other locals who had stepped out of their house early in the morning said that the bear got scared on seeing the villagers and climbed up the tree and got stuck.
The locals tried to help the bear alight but in vain. The villagers then informed the Umerkote Forest Officials so that they could rescue the distraught animal.
