Odisha Assembly Polls: Naveen to file nomination from Bijepur on Mar 25

Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is all set to file his nomination for the Bijepur constituency in Bargarh district of Western Odisha on March 25.

Odisha Labour and Employment Minister Sushant Singh informed that Patnaik is slated to file his nomination with Padampur Sub-collector-cum-returning officer at 2 pm. Several senior and local party leaders are slated to accompany him.

This would be the CM’s second nomination for the upcoming assembly elections, which will be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls next month.

Notably, the BJD president was the first candidate of the state ruling party to file the nomination. Earlier, yesterday, he filed his nomination for the Hinjili assembly constituency in Ganjam district, where he is seeking election for the fifth consecutive time.

The Odisha Chief Minister is contesting the state assembly election from two constituencies – Hinjili and Bijepur – in the forthcoming election.
