Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer and the incumbent Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) of Odisha Gagan Dhal has resigned from service today, a day after the State Government effected a major reshuffle among IAS officers.
Dhal, a 1985 batch IAS officer was due for retirement in January 2020.
Notably, as a part of the IAS reshuffle yesterday, which selected Asit Tripathy as the new Chief Secretary of Odisha Pradipta Mohapatra was also appointed as the new APC.
While it is still not clear why Dhal today tendered his resignation, it is expected to come clear in next few days.
It is also being speculated that Dhal might get a bigger responsibility after his quit.
