Odisha Annual Budget 2019-20 to be presented in Assembly today

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government will present the annual budget for 2019-20 fiscal at the State Legislative Assembly today.

State Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari will present the budget having a total outlay of over Rs 1,39,000 crore in the afternoon.

As per the tradition, the Finance Minister will present the Agriculture Budget for the current fiscal and then the full Budget.

It has been learnt that, the focus area of the new budget will centre on farmers’ welfare, cyclone ‘Fani’ restoration, Mission Shakti Program and other sectors like health and education.

That apart the government also may allocate funds for its other popular schemes like Mamata, State Food Security Scheme, universal health scheme Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY).

The State budget for 2018-19 was of Rs 1,20,028 crore, which was higher than its previous one by 12.3%.

Notably, today is the fourth day of the ongoing first Session of 16th Odisha Assembly, which witnessed disturbances in first two days followed by a normal working day yesterday.
