Ganjam: Tightening the noose around the necks of corrupt officials in the district, Ganjam Vigilance unit raided Ankaroda village Sarpanch Ushant Sahoo on Wednesday. The charges were of amassing properties disproportionate to his known source of income.
The Vigilance sleuths raided at six separate places, including the Panchayat office. Sahoo has four houses at Bhubaneswar, Digapahandi, Nabrangapur and at his ancestral place.
The Ganjam Vigilance unit has sought out Sarpanch Ushant Sahoo on DA charges, informed Berhampur Vigilance SP Mayadhar Swain.
While the raid is still underway, the exact amount of disproportionate asset would be declared by the Vigilance sleuths after its completion.
