Paradip: Due to alleged police atrocities in Dhinkia village of Paradip block in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha, the area bears a deserted look.

It is noteworthy that, tension ran high in Dhinkia village on Friday after alleged police atrocities on the villagers.

According to reports, a large number of villagers opposed the demolition of betel leaf yards at the proposed JSW site.

The police allegedly resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the protesting villagers.

Several villagers, were allegedly injured in the police scuffle.

Reports suggest that, the police allegedly prevented the villagers from protesting when they turned violent.

Subsequently, the police allegedly had to resort to lathi-charge to disperse the protesting villagers.
