Sambalpur: In view of decreasing water level at the Hirakud dam, six sluice gates of the reservoir have been closed on Saturday morning.
Currently, floodwater is being released through six sluice gates of the reservoir, the Hirakud Dam authority said.
The water level of Hirakud dam reservoir stood at 625.25 feet at 6 AM today, while the dam has a capacity of holding water up to 630 feet, officials said.
