Odisha: 5 places record temperature above 40 degree Celsius

Bhubaneswar: Sweltering heatwave conditions continued to prevail in several parts of Odisha with temperature crossing the 40 degree Celsius mark in five places of the state on Sunday.

According to the Bhubaneswar-based regional Meteorological Department, Titlagarh, with 42 degree Celsius, registered the highest temperature of the day.

The other four places where the mercury crossed the 40 degree Celsius mark are Talcher (40.6 degree C), Malkangiri (41 degree C), Angul (40.1 degree C) and Balangir (40 degree C).

On the other hand, Cuttack witnessed a maximum temperature of 37.6 degree Celsius while the state capital city sizzled at Bhubaneswar 36.7 degree Celsius.
