Bhubaneswar: On the basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by team of Special Task Force (STF), Bhubaneswar at Khordha on Saturday.
In the drive against illegal deal and possession of Narcotic Drugs and apprehended four drug peddlers identified as:
1) Rakesh Kumar Barik, 2) Biranchinarayan Sahoo, 3) Jagabandhu Biswal, 4) Santosh Routray
During search contraband brown sugar weighing 1030 gm and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from their possession.
The accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which they were arrested and were forwarded to the court of District and Sessions cum Special Judge, Khordha.
In this connection STF Case under NDPS Act 1985 has been registered. Investigation is on.
The Special drive against narcotic drugs is continuing. Since 2020, STF has
seized more than 55 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine and more than 111 quintals of Ganja/Marijuna, Opium 750 gram and arrested more than 156 drug dealers/peddlers.
