Odisha: 108 Ambulance hits Roadside tree, 2 killed

Bhadrak: Two persons lost their life and one sustained critical injuries as 108 ambulance, in which they were travelling, hit roadside tree on Chandbali-Bhadrak state highway near ugratara Chhak in the district late last night .

The deceased have been identified as Upendra Sahu of Kandagaradi village under chabdbali block and Pramod Parida, an employee of said ambulance.

The injured person was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. His condition was stated to be critical.

According to reports, Upendra was admitted at Chandbali CHC last night . But the doctors referred him to district headquarters hospital (DHH) here. Hence, the 108 ambulance was called to shift Upendra to the DHH that met accident in the state highway.

The driver of the ambulance, who was reportedly in inebriated condition, fled from the spot.
