Odia youth developed short video sharing App ‘Alap’ launched

Bhubaneswar: A short video sharing App in the name ‘Alap’ was launched recently in the capital city of Odisha. Developed by Odia youth Amit Kumar Mishra, the App has been made entirely based on indigenous know-how and Indian technology.

Popular Ollywood actress Priyanka Panigrahi graced the launching ceremony of the App while the event was attended by Alap’s CEO, Mr Loknath Reddy and co-founder Amit Kumar Mishra.

The central government’s digital strike has been widely praised as an important step towards data privacy in the country. Across the country, the slogan “Vocal for Local” was widely recognised to support Indian brands and start-ups.

The Prime Minister himself urged people of the country to make full use of our indigenous materials and know-how. Inspired by same the Odia youth Amit Kumar Mishra came up with the App.

“The beta version is now available on Google Play Store. Most importantly, the mobile app will have high security policies, compelling features, chatting options and attractive user interface as compared to other apps,” said Lokanath Reddy.

Alap’s technical team consists of mostly Odia youngsters, which is another matter of pride for the State. Team ‘Alap’ is hopeful that this app would find place on every one’s phone.
