Odia jawan’s mortal remains to arrive in Odisha today

Bhubaneswar: The mortal remains of slain Odia jawan Ajit Sahoo will arrive here on Wednesday. Yesterday he was martyred in a gunbattle with militants at Waghoma area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Ajit’s body will be transferred to the state capital via air mode. From here his mortal remains will be taken to his home town Badasuala village in Kamakhyanagar of Dhenkanal district.

The last rites will be performed with complete state honours.

Meanwhile, Ajit’s entire village is mourning the sad and untimely demise of their brave son. Ajit had joined India’s defence forces in 2015 and attained martyrdom in just four years of service.

Army jawan Ajit was initially injured in the attack but later succumbed to injuries.
