Bhubaneswar: An Odia Jawan of the Indian Army was martyred in a gunbattle with militants at Waghoma area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The martyred jawan has been identified as Ajit Sahoo.
Sahoo hailed from Badasuala village in Kamakhyanagar of Dhenkanal district. He had joined the Indian Army in 2015.
During the gunfight with militants, Sahoo sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital. However, he later succumbed to injuries.
This comes a day after an Army major and a militant were killed during an encounter in the Anantnag district.
