Berhampur: An Odia Army jawan from Hinjilicut area of Ganjam district was arrested in Rajasthan on charges of sharing information with Pakistani intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) yesterday.
The accused identified as Bichitra Behera (20) had been detained by police at Jaipur Railway Station last Monday along with another jawan who was later released due to lack of evidence. The duo had been posted at Jaisalmer of Pokhran.
As per Umesh Mishra Additional DGP, intelligence, Jaipur Bichitra had been honey-trapped by a woman agent of Pakistan ISI, a few months back. Later he shared a video with the same agent on WhatsApp and accepted money in return.
Behra has been booked under Section 3 (spying) of the Official Secrets Act though police found no discriminatory evidence against the second jawan who was detained, police made clear.
