Nuapada’s Sinapali ICDS Supervisor caught red handed while accepting bribe

Nuapada: The Supervisor of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) of Sinapali block in Nuapada district has been caught red handed by Odisha Vigilance on Monday for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 80,000. The Supervisor has been identified as Harshamani Dei.

Reportedly, Dei had demanded Rs 1 lakh earlier. However, the same was reduced during negotiation to Rs 80, 000/-. and the complainant was asked to meet at the Sinapali Bus Stand and hand over the bribe money.

On the basis of an reliable information, Odisha vigilance team conducted a raid while Harshamani was demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 from the complainant at Sinapali Bus Stand. She demanded the bribe for the appointment of complainant’s sister as Anganwadi worker of Sagunbhadi Centre.

Simultaneous searches have been launched at three places of Harshamani including Sinapali office in Nuapada district. Further investigation is in progress against Harshamani.

The entire bribe money Rs.80,000/ – has been recovered from Dei and seized. Further investigation underway.’
