Nuapada: In a tragic incident , a 35-year-old woman and her daughter were electrocuted to death in Makhapadar village under Sinapali police limits in Odisha’s Nuapada district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Tarulata Chandi, wife of Ramsingh Chandi , and their daughter Dusila (8).
According to reports, the mother-daughter duo was taking bath in a water tank near their house at around 11 AM. The incident occurred when an 11 KV wire snapped and fell into a water tank. Both of them reportedly died in the spot.
On being informed, Sinapali police reached the spot, recovered the bodies and started investigation into the matter.
A pall of gloom has descended in the locality following the tragic incident on New Year ’s Day.
Meanwhile , the locals demanded a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the kin of the deceased.
