Candidates who are in search of jobs in Police department can apply for different posts in the police department as the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has released an advertisement on Thursday for the same.

As per the notification, as many as 9027 posts of sub-inspector, 484 posts of platoon commander of PAC and 23 posts of fire-fighting second officer will be given appointments during this recruitment drive.

Out of the 9027 posts of sub-inspector of police, 27 per cent would be reserved for the Other Backward Classes, 21 per cent for the Scheduled Castes, 10 per cent for the economically weaker sections and 2 per cent for the Scheduled Tribes. Similarly, for horizontal reservation, 20 percent will be reserved for women, 5 percent for ex-servicemen and 2 percent for dependents of freedom fighters.

The same system of reservation will also be applicable in the recruitment of platoon commanders and fire officers. But women will not be recruited to the posts of platoon commanders and fire officers. In such a situation, reservation of 20 percent for women will also not be applicable.

The applicant of all categories will have to pay Rs 400 application fee online.

Candidates can apply for these posts from April 1 to April 30, 2021.

The candidates should have completed their Graduation from any university or any qualification recognized by the government as equivalent to the above inspector civilian police and platoon commander. Likewise, Bachelor of Science degree is required for a fire brigade officer or any qualification recognized by the Government as equivalent thereto.

Age limits: Minimum age should be 21 years and maximum 28 years as on 1 July 2021. However, the SC, ST and OBC candidates will get 5 years while the Ex-servicemen will get 3 years of relaxation in the maximum age limit.

Online written examination of 400 marks will be of two hours.
