Not In Kotia Alone, Andhra Pradesh Is Conducting Election In Another Gram Panchayat Of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Andhra Pradesh is not conducting election in the disputed Kotia areas of Odisha’s Koraput district alone, it has also reportedly issued a notification to hold polls in Gangabada gram panchayat, located in Garabandha Tehsil of Gajapati district.

According to reports, several Odia people from both Kotia and Gangabada areas are said to be the candidates of different political parties of Andhra Pradesh who are contesting the election.

After providing land pattas, voter IDs, Aadhaar Cards, Ration Cards, old-age pensions, and electricity connectivity, the Andhra Pradesh government is now convincing the residents of Manikapatna, Madiakhal, Burusing, Amaringi, and Gudukhudi villages under Gangabada gram panchayat to cast their votes.

The neighbouring State has mentioned in the voter identity cards that these villages are coming under the Sabakota gram panchayat in Srikakulam district.

Meanwhile, a team under the leadership of Gajapati Sub-collector has assured to hold meetings with the locals of these disputed regions and address their problems soon.
