Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has directed the hospitals to discontinue the routine Covid testing before hospitalisation, informed Health and Family Welfare on Monday.
Reportedly, the government has taken this decision due to the remarkable decline in Covid in Odisha.
The Covid test will only be conducted only on patients with symptoms.
The department took its official Twitter handle and wrote “As the #COVID19 cases in the State are witnessing sharp decline, #Odisha Government has directed the hospitals to discontinue the routine Covid-19 testing before hospitalisation. The test will be conducted only on patients with symptoms.”
It is to be noted that earlier a Covid test was mandatory for a person before hospitalisation.
