No respite from scorching heat wave in Odisha as mercury rises to 43 Deg Celsius in 9 places

Bhubaneswar: As many as 22 places of Odisha recorded a maximum day temperature of 43 degrees or more on Monday, informed the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The IMD said that Boudh was the hottest place in the State today as it boiled at a maximum day temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius.

The other places where the maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius or more were reported today are Angul (43.1), Baripada (43.8), Jharsuguda (43.9), Keonjhar (41.3), Sambalpur (43.1), Sundargarh (43.0), Hirakud (42.3), Bhawanipatna (42.0), Bolangir (43.8), Titilagarh (43.5), Rayagada (40.1), Bhadrak (41.0), Jajpur(41.0), Dhenkanal (40.6), Deogarh (42.8), Bargarh (42.0), Nuapada (41.0), Khordha (42.0), Sonepur (43.6), Boudh (44.5), Nayagarh (41.0), and Paralakhemundi (41.7).

The IMD has issued a ‘yellow’ warning saying that the maximum day temperature is likely to increase further by two to three degree Celsius over various districts of Interior parts of the State due to northwesterly/westerly dry air at lower cools and high solar insolation maximum temperature.
