No respite from heat & humidity in Odisha as mercury breaches 40 degrees Celsius mark in 15 places

Bhubaneswar: There is no respite from heat and humidity in Odisha as the mercury breached the 40 degrees Celsius mark in 15 places of the State today.

The latest data of the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here revealed that Balangir and Titilagarh recorded maximum temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius today. While Balangir sizzled at 45.3 degrees Celsius, Titilagarh boiled at 45.2 degrees Celsius.

Baripada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundergarh, Hirakud, Bhawanipatna, Titlagarh, Deogarh, Bargarh, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Sonepur and Boudh are the other places where the mercury breached the 40 degrees Celsius mark today.

The weather department also has predicted that this kind of day temperature would prevail at least for the next two days.
