No Cyclone Scare In Odisha Says IMD DG

Bhubaneswar, 06/11: The apprehension about cyclone, “Bulbul”  hitting Odisha has been laid to rest by the IMD DG, Dr.Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.

Speaking to KalingaTV, Mohapatra confirmed that there is, “no cyclone scare in Odisha”.

The cyclonic storm is centered around 800kms from Paradip coast, he added.

The landfall details are yet to be ascertained, but the Met Department has confirmed that it has taken the from of a low pressure.

Rainfall is likely on the 9th and 10th November with wind speeds reaching  40-50 kmps. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the Bay of Bengal. Those at sea have been told to return by 8th morning.

A close watch is being kept on the progress of the cyclone said the Met Department.

The Met Department also said that, Cyclone “Maha” in the Arabian Sea has turned into a marginal cyclonic storm and might hit Gujarat with rainfall and wind speeds of upto 70-80kmps.
