No-confidence motion against Modi Govt: BJD walks out From Lok sabha

New Delhi: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Friday staged a walkout from the Lok Sabha soon after the Lower House of the Parliament was convened for no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government.
On the floor of the House, BJD MP Bhartruhari Mahtab said his party was walking out of the House “since both the UPA and NDA governments haven’t done much to Odisha.”
“Since this debate will not be fruitful for the people of Odisha, we the members of BJD would like to abstain from the discussion” said Mahtab.
The no-confidence motion has been moved by the Opposition parties led by Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Meanwhile the Speaker has announced that the voting on no-confidence motion will take place at 6 PM today.
The Modi Government is expected to have a smooth sailing as it needs needs only 267 members to clear the test.
