Night Curfew Returns To Odisha; Check Details

Bhubaneswar: Taking a serious note of the steep rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in the State, the Malkangiri district administration on Monday imposed night curfew with an aim to prevent further spread of the deadly virus.

According to the district administration, the night curfew has been imposed in the wake of the upcoming local festival ‘Bada Jatra.’ This will remain in force from 9 PM to 6 AM between March 23 and 31, 2021. The ‘Bada Jatra’ will be observed with only 200 attendees by following social distancing rules.

The district administration has also banned Holi celebrations in public places. However, only 50 persons will be allowed to celebrate the Dola Jatra 2021.

Earlier during the day, Odisha Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena informed that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will hold a COVID review meeting tomorrow which will be attended by several top officials and all the district Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs).
