Newly married woman dies under suspicious condition in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A newly married woman has allegedly died under suspicious condition in Bhadrak district of Odisha on Saturday. A police complaint has been made in this context by the father of the deceased.

As per reports, Rakesh Kumar Naik, son of Ramakanta Naik of Naik sahi in Natiapali village under Krushnapur panchayat in Basudevpur block had married Rahasa Manjari Puhana, daughter of Maheshwar Puhana of Sandhagada village under Laxmidaspur panchayat as per Hindu traditions.

Interestingly, the marriage had taken place on February 14, on the Valentine’s Day.

Father of the deceased has alleged that as per the demand by the bridegroom side, dowry had been given during the wedding. The family life of the couple went well for a few days and then problem started.

For the last one month her in-laws were torturing my daughter, complained Maheswar.

Maheswar further said that today father of the boy called him on phone and informed that the woman is critical and they are shifting her to the hospital for treatment. However, he reached the hospital and found the woman dead, he said. Accordingly, he has lodged a complaint with Police.
