Jajpur: With no respite in sight from child abandonment in the State, a newborn girl was found dumped in a dustbin of a health centre in Rasulpur area of the Jajpur today.
As per the report, a group of cleaning staffs who were engaged on duty at the Madhuban Health Centre in Rasulpur this morning came across the baby inside the dustbin and informed the hospital authorities. Later, doctors rescued the baby and carried out her preliminary health check-up.
The newborn was rushed to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for better treatment subsequently.
After the district Child Protection Unit members reached the DHH and took stock of the health condition of the rescued baby, she was shifted to Cuttack Sishu Bhawan.
