Khurdha: A newborn baby girl was found abandoned behind a bush near a pond at Tankol village under Jankia police limits in the district on Saturday.
According to sources, locals spotted the baby first after hearing its cries and then rescued her. Later, they informed the Childline members who rushed to the spot in an 108-ambulance.
The new born has been admitted to the district headquarters hospital and is under observation.
