Bhanjanagar: A newborn baby boy was found abandoned in a cropland in Saranuapalli village under Bellaguntha block in Ganjam district on Tuesday.
The baby presumably, a day old or two was first spotted by a local who heard his screaming while taking bath in a pond near the cropland. Later villagers reached the spot and rushed the baby in an ambulance to Bhanjanagar Medical after rescue.
While the condition of the rescued baby is stable after treatment, Bhanjanagar Police has registered a case in the incident and is trying to trace his parents.
