New born child stolen from Patnagarh hospital rescued

Balangir: The newborn baby that was stolen from the sub-divisional hospital in Patnagarh of Balangir district has been rescued.

Superintendent of Police, Balangir, K Siba Subramani said that the newborn baby has been rescued from Nuapada. He further intimated that the health condition of the baby is not well and it is now on the way to Balangir to be treated at the headquarter hospital.

Police had started an investigation after tracing the registration number of the bike from CCTV footage which was allegedly used to steal the baby. A special team of police had been investigating the case.

An unidentified woman allegedly had stolen the newborn baby boy from the Patnagarh Sub Divisional Hospital in Odisha’s Balangir district on Wednesday.

More details awaited.

Update: The baby has been admitted at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital for treatment.

Two persons have been arrested in this connection.

Police are yet to publicize how they rescued the child.
